Design has the power to
ease people's daily lives.

I'm on an adventure - to explore the limits of design's ability to solve social problems, big and small. To do this I attempted to solve 50 problems in 50 days using design. I also spent time with 12 of Europe's top design firms.
Design isn’t just about the good ideas you get when you’re in the shower. Design is a process where everyone is involved, often the clients, and they have to understand that we need their time.
When you talk about user experience, it must be understood in reality. When we talk about way finding we imagine a person with lots of complex things happening in his mind and his body.
An assumption today is that, as we are smart creatures, we are capable of a range of very complex behaviours like multitasking - but this not true. We are still the same people who lived in caves. We are kind of smart and are able to deal with our limitations in smart ways but we have strong limitations on the cognitive side. Our attention is very weak; we’re only able to do one thing at a time so we must be careful to bare this in mind when we do design.
